Brief Introduction
Anhui University of Finance and Economics was founded in Hefei in 1959 as Anhui University of Finance and Economics. In 1961, the school moved to Bengbu, a central city in the Huaihe River Basin known as the “Pearl City”. The school has been affiliated to the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Domestic Trade. In February 2000, the State Council decided that Anhui University of Finance and Trade would be jointly built by the central and local governments, and mainly managed by the Anhui Provincial People’s Government. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Anhui University of Finance and Economics in May 2004.
At present, the school is a university jointly established by the All-China Supply and Marketing Cooperative and the Anhui Provincial People’s Government, a characteristic high-level university under key construction in Anhui Province, and a peak discipline construction university in Anhui Province. The school currently has two campuses, Bengbu Longhu East and West Campuses, and the Hefei Institute of Advanced Studies, covering an area of more than 1,450 acres and a construction area of approximately 750,000 square meters. The school has complete facilities and a beautiful environment. It has won the titles of “National Greening Model Unit”, “National Top 100 Canteens”, the first “Anhui Province Civilized Campus”, and the National “Conservation-based Public Institution Demonstration Unit”.
The disciplines cover seven major categories: economics, management, law, literature, science, engineering, and art. It is a multi-disciplinary university of finance and economics. It is among the first batch of universities in my country with the right to award bachelor’s degrees and the third batch with the right to award master’s degrees. of colleges and universities. There are currently School of Economics, School of Finance, School of International Economics and Trade, School of Business Administration, School of Management Science and Engineering, School of Accounting, School of Finance and Public Administration, School of Law, School of Statistics and Applied Mathematics, School of Arts, School of Liberal Arts, School of Marxism , Physical Education Department and other 13 colleges (departments).
It has 3 provincial-level peak disciplines, 3 provincial-level peak cultivation disciplines, and 8 provincial-level key disciplines. In the “Ranking of China’s Best Subjects” released by Ruanke in 2023, the school’s applied economics and statistics ranked in the top 20%, and business administration ranked in the top 30%. According to Clarivate Analytics’ November 2023 ESI (Essential Science Indicator Database) data, the school’s Engineering and Social Sciences, General disciplines have entered the top 1% of the global ESI rankings. The school has 9 first-level master’s degree authorization disciplines, 36 master’s degree authorization points, and 16 master’s professional degree authorization categories.
