Brief Introduction

Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, known as the “Paradise on Earth”.

It is a finance and economics university with economics and management disciplines as the main subjects and coordinated development of economics, management, literature, law, science, engineering, art, philosophy and other disciplines.

Colleges and universities. The school was formerly known as Zhejiang Finance and Banking School founded in 1974. In 1987, it was approved to establish Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. In 1991, it obtained the right to confer bachelor’s degrees and in 2003, it obtained the right to confer master’s degrees. In 2012, it was approved to serve the country’s special needs doctoral talent training project.

In 2013, it was renamed Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. In 2014, it was approved as a postdoctoral research mobile station. In 2017, it was listed as a key construction university in Zhejiang Province. In 2018, it was approved as a doctorate-granting unit. In 2023, it was listed as a high-level university construction university in Zhejiang Province.

The school currently has four campuses: Xiasha, Wenhua, Cuiyuan and Chang’an, covering an area of 2,300 acres and a total construction area of 570,600 square meters (excluding Xiasha Ziyuan living area). It has 17 colleges, 1 teaching department, 1 independent college, 4 research institutes, 2 affiliated kindergartens, 2 affiliated primary schools, and 1 affiliated middle school.

It has the right to confer doctorate, master’s and bachelor’s degrees and the right to recruit foreign students, students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. There are more than 20,800 full-time students on campus (excluding independent colleges). It has self-built five characteristic libraries: Nobel Economics Prize Library, Sun Yefang Economic Science Prize Library, Government Regulation Library, Zhejiang Finance Library, and Professional Classics Reading Library.

The school insists on treating talents as its core resources and continuously improves the strength of its teaching staff. There are more than 1,800 faculty members at the school, more than 1,300 full-time teachers, more than 190 with senior professional titles, more than 370 with deputy senior professional titles, and more than 880 full-time teachers with doctorate degrees.

There is a postdoctoral research mobile station for applied economics and statistics. In addition, more than 100 well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad are employed as part-time professors.
